Alternative meats made from plant’s such as Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods had their hayday. Consumers are realizing although advertised as a healthy alternative, most of these plant based meats are made from soy protein, some type of fat, some sort of binder, and may contain natural or artificial flavors to make the product taste more like real meat. Not much of a healthier alternative if you ask me.

The supply chain for animal-fed foods which currently account for 57% of global food production’s greenhouse gas emissions. Countries are actively investing in and trying to find ways to reduce this greenhouse gas emissions by trying to accomplish two things: 1. reduce the amount of land, harvest, feed, and machinery that goes in to the process of growing and processing meat. and 2. Reduce the supply chain so products don’t have to travel as far and wide to get to their customers.

Cultivated meat is a rising alternative to plant-based meat. Cultivated meat is lab-grown from muscle samples and stem cells from real animals, this small sample is cultivated into a larger piece of meat, that is then packaged and sold. Cultivated meat is an alternative for people who have environmental or animal right concerns with eating traditional meat.
